Autumnal Equinox & Full Harvest Moon: Demand Truth & Nurture Non-Toxic Relationships

“As above, so below. As within, so without.” — The Emerald Tablet of Hermes

The cosmos are macro example of the same reality on our Earth. If one is like the other, we can look at the Earth to better understand the cosmos.

The Autumnal Equinox is Saturday, and nature will take a dramatic leap of faith on itself, as it has every autumn.

It will allow parts of its body to die and compost in the faith that a new life will arrive in the coming seasons.

Trees will keep their structure – the trunks, branches, and twigs. But they will have new “hands” through their leaves to interact with its similar, but changed surroundings.

You too have the opportunity to let go of old things – even if they’re good things – to make room for a new perception of self and your surroundings.

Monday’s Full Harvest Moon highlights all that can be changed about how you initiate and begin projects in your life.

And likely, it will reflect a relationship between authorities, masculine energy, and men that you’ve danced through all week.

In conditions of opportunity like these, there are 3 strategies I’ll practice to keep me on track.

  1. Being in my truth.
  2. Renewing my trust in myself.
  3. Facilitating non-toxic relations (by practicing 1 &2).

In This Week’s Considerations, I dive deeper into the meaning and opportunity of Mercury entering Libra, the Autumnal Equinox, and the Full Harvest Moon in Aries. I also review the best ways I’ve found to realize these strategies to keep both of us on track.

Sun in Virgo: Start a New Trend (Also, Mars Direct Motion & Full Moon in Pisces)

This Week’s Considerations again on video format – with captions!

Sun enters Virgo on Thursday just after midnight ET.

That coupled with a stationed Mars (so impatiently wanting to go into Direct Motion), you can feel antsy.

Before – or rather beside – just jumping out of planes and going wild for a bit, you’ll want to channel the energy to long-term gratification too.

Virgo time is consistently a responsible, get-back-to-work moment where the fancies of summer seem eons ago.

You have a great opportunity this year to start a new trend. Especially so with the weekends aspects: a translation of light to make a Grand Trine and also a revealing Full Moon.

All this leads to a strikingly powerful Monday, when Mars is actually Direct Motion, to make the moves with a forceful bang!

Day Guides get into the details, and I think you’ll find them especially helpful this week. <3 Continue reading “Sun in Virgo: Start a New Trend (Also, Mars Direct Motion & Full Moon in Pisces)”

Astrological Traffic Jam: Pace Yourself

Over here in California, I’ve had to get used to driving again. While the traffic is nothing compared to L.A., I still get really frustrated with stop-and-go traffic at rush hours.

Just when you get out of the gas/brake dance, someone cuts you off and takes advantage of your steadiness.

It’s hard to not to stay angry or upset, but yet that’s probably the best thing to do – especially in a car.

Astrologically speaking, it feels like a traffic jam this week.

There’s plenty of important things to do, standards and accomplishments you want to show off! Principles you want to shove into people’s faces…hmmm??

All this week’s void moons keep putting you back to a place of inward (and not so outward) action. It can be pretty annoying. (The Day Guides below will explain more).

This Week’s Considerations helps you pace yourself and get through the astrological traffic jam.

5 Ways to Decongest Your Life

  1. Express Yourself. Take the void moon outlets as days to vent frustration, anger, or inaction. Do it through exercise, talking it out, or journaling. Don’t let yourself become a volcano by keeping it to yourself and pretending you shouldn’t feel that way in the first place. Accept and express yourself as is!
  2. Buy Healthy Snacks & Drink Water. Food is a magical place to take out stress. Make sure you have healthy alternatives the most convenient for you to grab when you’re bored, annoyed with inaction, or stressed by whatever flies in your face. You’ll need it, especially for the high-energy days through the middle of the week to keep your physical body calm. When the body is calm, it’s easier to run the rest of the emotional, spiritual, and mental components! Oh, and hydration – keep a big bottle next you!
  3. Take AMAZING breaks. Make a list of all the things you can do for 15-minutes that would break-up your current work and train of thought. Make some fun, make some practical. (The multi-tasker in you will feel more accomplished). When you don’t have to spend mental energy on figuring out what to do for a break, it’s a higher quality one! Have your list handy by your workstation. And by golly, take those breaks!
  4. Focus. Start your day with a simple meditation, 5 minutes even! Then write out the top 3-5 priorities for the day. Keep it near you. Revisit the list again after lunch. Stay focused on what matters, and the ruckus outside will seem a little quieter.
  5. Breathe. Yes, I’m aware that your body will automatically breathe for you. But remember to take deeper breaths and calm down once and awhile. Or, if you’re feeling lethargic, try taking quicker ones. Use your body instrument to get you the ends you need. Breath is often a wonderful foundation.

Astrological Day Guides: June 26 – July 2, 2018

Read these guides as a whole to get a feel for the week’s tone. There’s always some overlap of themes. Then read them as you need them, day-by-day.

Tuesday –  Retreat and do some projections for your future, maybe through the autumn even! You’ll also might find yourself in the mood to change your environment and shake up the routines. The mind wants to expand its boundaries today – feed it!
(All day void moon starting at 8:54am EDT).

Wednesday – Waking up with a mission, the morning can feel anxious. Lots to accomplish and appearances to maintain. Ask friends for help, or just accept the mess as it is. On the bright side, at least things are moving!
(Sun opposes Saturn. Capricorn Moon trines Uranus and conjoins Saturn before its Full Moon after midnight).

Thursday – You can see the fruits of your efforts from yesterday although you might have to look at the back-end. Check out your website stats, what people are saying, etc. Hold value in that!
(Capricorn Moon sextiles Jupiter and Neptune).

Friday – Starting today it can be easier to express yourself. Thanks to Mercury’s journey here – extended by way of an upcoming retrograde (!!) – you can practice more productive and honest communication styles. Start today by speaking to yourself in a different way. Maybe you write a post-it affirmation on your bathroom mirror. Maybe you journal about it… start the journey of self-expression with you!
(Mercury enters Leo. Void Moon all day).

Saturday – Expect angry protests today. Whether you’re marching or at home, the anger, frustration, and hurt can get out of control. Have your own coping mechanisms to channel the emotion for yourself and extend that to others if needed. (Hint: usually being an example helps others manage themselves better).
(Moon in Aquarius conjoins Mars. Mercury-Uranus square).

Sunday – Frustrations linger from yesterday. It can seem like everything is imploding, exploding… Things can get taken personally today, so just back off when it gets too heated. For any necessary friction, try to see things from an outsider’s perspective.
(Aquarius Moon opposes Venus and goes void at 6:56pm EDT).

Monday – You may feel like you’re scrambling to get your week started – blame the void moon in the morning. Once the Moon enters Pisces for the afternoon, the shuffle will still be there, but it can be tempered with calming music, aromatherapy and other Pisces tricks for keeping the cool.
(Void Moon morning until 1:31pm EDT. Then the Pisces Moon sextiles Uranus and Saturn).

Work Hard Without Feeling Like Crap About It + Libra Full Moon

oscar-soderlund-black-white-running-water-KristenTodayCareer and achievement are some of the most sought after answers on Google.

While it takes a visionary to see the world in a new way, it also take sweat, brains, and resilience to see through what it actually takes to make visions a reality.

It can feel like you’re running a marathon although you’ve never left your desk!

These supportive roles in American society are often see as undesirable class and social symbols. And so, they are avoided. Things that trigger senses of inferiority and petty work instead of “climbing the ladder” are the modern-day plague. It may be a little murmur in the back of your mind, but it’s likely creating some hesitancy on your part!

This week’s cosmic landscape challenges your resistance to busy work and trusting the process.

Today’s Leo Moon can be an ego deflator, followed by a Virgo Moon that has you cleaning up old messes.

By the time you’ve had enough of the weeds, you’re confronted with the Full Moon in Libra that asks what you actually accomplished vs. what you say you wanted in your life. And that Virgo Moon from the couple days before has all the details ready for review.

Saturn and Mars approach a conjunction this week. It’s like a college-age son reporting back to his father what he accomplished. Being a young man, it may have been aimless and full of sexual interests moreso or less than learning… and that is a reconciliation that both will have find with a plan and a renewed vision of how to go about things.

Saturn and Mars represent your own plans (followed or not) and actions (strategic or aimless/for fun and pleasure). The Full Moon corners this already tense moment in the sky threatening you with more of the same or giving you the opportunity to decide on taking a new approach.

It’s you that makes the decision to start fresh. And that might mean rolling up your sleeves and dealing with the nitty-gritty work necessary to get yourself back on track.

All in all, when you’re faced with hard truths, humility and humbleness go a long way. They are the ever shifting backbone that keeps you pure and honest no matter where you’re going.

This Week’s Considerations explore how to work hard without feeling like crap about it. Continue reading “Work Hard Without Feeling Like Crap About It + Libra Full Moon”

The Sustainable (And More Human) Path To Achievement

andrew-bertram-teal-blue-water-stone-KristenToday

In school, I was a straight-A student. I memorized and did what I was supposed to do, and then delivered in my tests and presentations. I don’t discount or forget the efforts that went into that. However, how I went about my successes in my school years has taught me something I can use today.

Achievement to me today means being my best self, in my truth, in every situation I come across. It’s my essence and embodying it as both my body and consciousness evolve.

That also means seeking pleasure and purpose in everything I do. I’m not perfect at this, yet the better I get at it, the more I’m convinced there’s some gold in this way of being.

Professional work is easy to be short-sighted. Personal work is too.

However, I’ve found the more integrated you are between your lifestyle and professional lives, the easier these come together for the long-term! And, the more fulfilled you are!

This Week’s Considerations explores this challenge of integrating goals and lifestyle. Continue reading “The Sustainable (And More Human) Path To Achievement”

How to Have It All + Mercury Retrograde and Gemini Full Moon.

compass-hand-KristenTodayAre you having a hard time choosing between good options?

Sometimes it’s just easier to resort to unfulfilling tasks or distractions when the “authorities” clash in your thinking.

You may just want to let this pass and see what comes, but do world-class poker players rely purely on fate?

Don’t become a witness instead of a player of the game of your life either!

In only 4 weeks, the fluffy optimism that characterized the past 2.5 years starts getting translated to meaningful accomplishments (even more).

Time for everyone to step up to the authority and influence they want to be in the world. Yes, you too!

This Week’s Considerations is inspired by the astrological climate around the Mercury Retrograde and the Gemini Full Moon on Sunday, December 3rd. Continue reading “How to Have It All + Mercury Retrograde and Gemini Full Moon.”

The True Value of Taurus Full Moon 2017

bull-white-KristenTodayThe Taurus Full Moon is the one I symbolically find most profound and challenging. (I like challenges).

Taurus Full Moon annually asks at once to do two contradictory directives.

  1. Reap the benefits of all you’ve created over the past 20 months. You’ve worked hard to bring your value into the world, and now those efforts can be recognized even more to reward you for that!
  2. Reinvent your sense of self to seed the creation of something more profoundly meaningful to you. To do this, you have to let go of what you’ve created this past 20-months. You let it live its life, and now it’s time to strike up the creative juices and move on.

Every year, the astrological environment of the other planets’ placements shapes the context to which the Full Moon will manifest. Each of these aspects shapes how you will do these two directives over the next 20 months. Continue reading “The True Value of Taurus Full Moon 2017”

Lean In. Look for Oz’s Controller.

francisco-gomes-light-man-KristenTodayThe summer of hot personalities and drama has appropriately climaxed with Taylor Swift’s “Reputation” debut of her rebuttal of former self.

By now you can be used to listening to the loud, seeing the big, and smelling the stink and thinking that’s the end of the story.

Well, it was face-value until now.

Mars was strongly holding the bigger-than-life energy – standing strong for what you believed, working your body, partying with those you loved…

… and now he’s in Virgo. Oh yeah, there’s a man behind the curtain controlling the spectacle of “Oz.”

Now that Mars is in Virgo, all the planets are under Mercury’s control. (Through an astrological technique called depositors, you can see that the signs where each planet currently resides are ruled by 1 or 2 degrees of separation by Mercury).

Mercury is TINY! But powerful. Don’t under-estimate Mercury!

Dude is closest to the Sun – he has to be flexible to all that heat and light while keeping himself together -literally.

And, Mercury makes aspects to the planets the most out of anyone besides the Earth’s Moon. So he’s in the know. Continue reading “Lean In. Look for Oz’s Controller.”

When Things Get Easy, Watch Out for Self Sabotage

Don-Juan-Commander-Inner-Critic-KristenTodaySelf-sabotage is more than eating that extra chocolate square when you promised yourself you wouldn’t.

As this Pyschology Today article on Self Sabotage by Dr. Lisa Firestone mentions, every person falls on some part of the spectrum of self-hatred, and the inner critic can put on many masks. (Yikes!)

That inner critic can be mean and degrading, or it can offer comforts that lead to bad behaviors.

Also, the defenses from our childhood are familiar but no longer may be appropriate for your adult, mature life… thus limiting you.

And finally, the never ending list of fears that seek to protect you actually prevent you from experiencing the highest joys. The inner critic’s shield of fear makes you small.

This week, things get less complicated as Venus and Mercury enter the signs they rule.

Too, Jupiter stations to Direct motion, which makes things easier.

You’ve been clever these past few months to deal with slow-moving progress, stories that just won’t end, and delays.

Now that things are easier, the change might be jolting, and you could create more problems just so it’s familiar to what you’ve been handling with the past few months.

A.K.A. Self Sabotage might sneak up on you, and we all are prone to it to some degree.

Why’s that astrologically? Continue reading “When Things Get Easy, Watch Out for Self Sabotage”

Juno Retrograde and Node Shifts to Leo-Aquarius

Juno-Jupiter-James-Barry-KristenTodayThis Week’s Astrological Highlights

  • The Moon’s Nodes change signs today, Tuesday. The Leo North Node helps you step up to shine your inner self, express yourself fully, and take care of those you love with all the joys and pleasures you can imagine.

Aquarius South Node asks you to leave behind negative attachments, connections, wishful thinking dreams, and friends who hold you back.  (see more details in This Week’s Consideration below).

  • Full Moon in Scorpio on Wednesday. It’s one of those werewolf type of Full Moons where people just aren’t themselves. Stay inside and do the inner work on yourself with gratitude of who you have become if you want to do something ceremonious. See Day Guide for more.

  • Mercury re-enters Taurus on Monday, May 15th. Mercury slows down his words finesse his expression and the work you did when Mars was in Taurus March 11 – April 21.

  • Juno (pictured above with hubby Zeus) stations Retrograde on Wednesday, May 10th. Asteroid of partnership and justice, Juno’s Retrograde through Capricorn plays with Pluto and further unravels any wrongs, injustices, and grudges previously buried. (Politically, this could be a disaster for misplaced use of power).

For YOU, this is an opportunity to take back your power and partner up with those who share your common sense principles. Missed opportunities for strategic partnerships or recognition by an organization have a second-chance.

The more you align to these Uranian influences to do good for the collective, the easier good can come from this Retrograde. (Because that’s a square aspect, it’s tension, but you can work through it for positive benefit).

What Moon Nodes in Leo-Aquarius Can Mean For You

Today, Tuesday, the Moon’s Nodes change signs into the Leo-Aquarius axis.

Like the Moon pulls the earth’s waters to create tides, the Nodes pull you in one direction or another.

The North Node is said to draw you to your higher path / ultimate goal.

The South Node is said to be where you came from, but it also leads to endings because Mother Nature likes to evolve.

You use the wisdom from your South Node to try to get to that North Node.

The nodes leave the Virgo-Pisces axis where they have been since October 2015.

They defined the eclipses over the past year and a half by rapidly pulling you to evolve by activating one node or the other.

This placement helped you shed negative beliefs and create good habits. You also probably have more realistic ideas on how to spend your time wisely on the day-to-day. Even if you’re still working on perfecting this, it was very practical and humbling time.

Now in Leo-Aquarius until November 2018, you get a different tone.

Leo helps you step up to shine your inner self, express yourself fully, and take care of those you love with all the joys and pleasures you can imagine.

What do you leave behind? Aquarius south node can withdraw negative attachments, connections, wishful thinking dreams, and friends who hold you back.

Hey, still love those you leave behind. Everyone has a time and place. Yet, do the mature thing and just start to create your distance. You already know who they are from last autumn’s introspections.

Day Guides: May 9-15, 2017

Tuesday: Spark fly. A project’s pieces come together, or a missing part is discovered. Mercury and Uranus conjoin in Aries today, giving further drive to strategic Scorpio Moon. This is also accident-prone, so watch your step and try not to multitask when an awesome “download” is coming in. 😉

Wednesday: Scorpio Full Moon Suggestions: Nestle yourself in a dark place and piece-by-piece, make peace with yourself. Recognize how you’ve grown, who you are becoming… Appreciate what is without having to change it. Energetically go to what feels stagnant or dull, try to brighten it by your inner light and determination to let go of what’s not serving you. Let go of your past, let it be a strength of experience. But, don’t let it determine how things will surely unfold in the future. Re-kindle inner optimism.

Thursday: Sagittarius Moon can make you an escapist today. Mars and Neptune square, making you squeamish on how your actions are match the “dream” (or not). Mercury trines Saturn and rats your truth out, so discerning Saturn knows and will take this into account in his assessment on how to commit to this vision you’re laying out through the end of the year. Eeks! In the most positive light, today you can take a short “retreat” to face yourself with true honesty. From there, you can make a plan to cut out the stuff that isn’t serving the ultimate dreams within the near future and set time to plan how you enhance what’s truly important.

Friday: If yesterday’s tension was too much, today’s a good followup energy to face yourself and prioritize what matters to you. Sagittarius Moon wants you think big. Mars and Jupiter trine and want to help you figure out possible paths to get there. Yes, there is a Plan B. If you don’t have it, make it. Your dreams are that important.

Saturday: Take a stay-cation or close-to-home vacation. Sagittarius Moon puts you in the mood to be in an unfamiliar environment, just to see things from a different angle. If you didn’t have time to do the work from Thursday and Friday, now’s a good moment too.

Sunday: Mother’s Day Capricorn Moon can be emotionally cold today. Try to complement the tendency to make a checklist of all of Mom’s accomplishments for a little ol’ fashioned love too. I’m sure the mothers in your life will appreciate it. And if you find yourself wanting more from mom, figure out how you can mom yourself to get what you actually need. <3
