Are you exhausted and about to give up?
Back when I waited tables, helped run a couple dance companies, and paid every last dollar toward dance and choreography expenses, I often was unspeakably tired – physically and emotionally so. Living in NYC, I felt like I needed to do it all just to survive! As you can imagine, this intensity put me near the edge of anxiety, depression, and doubt countless times.
If only I didn’t feel trapped anymore, like I was actually living in the brightness and joy I knew life to be – more often!
With this last week of Sun in Scorpio, culminating in the Scorpio New Moon, you can feel beat up and exhausted from all the intensity lately. This week, I’ll show you 3 Steps on how to get through these final throes and start a new beginning.
When things get tough, it’s easy to put the blame on someone or something else… even the world! “Life isn’t fair!” “It’s the starving artist lifestyle.” “Put your skin in the game!”
All these pressures about how life is supposed to work LIMIT you and imprison you!
You, your mindset, and iron will (discussed in Last Week’s Considerations) can free you. It’s the recipe for true liberty.
Maybe you feel that you can’t afford to make any missteps.
So what happens when this train you’re running burns out? Will you sit sick in bed a few days and go back to the same grind?
That kind of behavior eats away at your self-image and confidence.
Your spirit cannot afford to make the SAME missteps of how you spend your time energy today.
Incorporate these 3 steps to get yourself out of this exhaustion loop!
Step 1 – Cut Out the Dead Weights
Many people mistakenly cut out the things they don’t like instead of cutting out the dead weights. Let me explain.
Do this for (at least) 3 Days…
Write down everything you do in 15 minutes blocks from when you wake up until you go to sleep. (Even the texting, yes.)
At the end, carefully review your notes to see how you actually spend your time. This is when I want you to take out the vision board, statement, or collection of feelings about where you want to go that you’ve been developing this past year if you’ve been following the Weekly Considerations.
Balance this vision with your actual expenditure of effort. Which activities are light you up on that path toward your vision, which are musings pedaling away at the stationary bicycle?
Hello – you know which activities are the dead weights,::ahem:: often immediately.
Even if something is difficult or unpleasant, it can still push you forward.
Another way to look at it is what Brendan Burchard calls it “Other people’s agendas.” Your emails, your news feed, it’s getting at what others want from you. What about pushing forward what you want from others to the top of your priority list?
In other words, stop holding yourself back with dumb ways to use your energy.
Step 2 – Trust Yourself, Trust Your Gut
When you’re exhausted, reality can get distorted. Your body enters emergency mode, and getting rid of dead weights can feel impossible to do.
In my decade-long pursuit of “balance” for my working life in NYC, I once thought it’d be great to work in a (very) corporate environment. The cut-and-dry responsibilities and simplicity of my admin role (to which I was overqualified) seemed to be a smart move.
However, it was miserable for me. After 3 months, I felt in my gut I needed to leave. (It was a total dead weight and downward spiral).
I had NO job lined up and very little cash to my bank account.
I felt vulnerable and scared, but I was definite that I deserved better.
As it turned out, the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy hit just as I entered my job transition. So looking for a job became even more difficult, and my bank account got even scarier.
In this time, I held strong two values: 1) the belief in myself, my skills and experience 2) the optimism that my intuition was right and it would lead me to something practical and inspired.
Just when I needed it, a new job opportunity presented itself. It was the best “job job” I ever had in NYC, and it was the last “job job” I had.
Like me, you have reason to believe in yourself and your instincts.
Your life experience and training have given you a wiser approach than when you were younger. That’s fact.
Too, you can trace back how you instinctively looked to find joy in every new opportunity you’ve ever taken. Why would this be any different?
Allow yourself to be okay to be in the dark of the unknown.
The trust in yourself and your gut can get you through to a better reality. If it feels right, will yourself to make these leap of faiths and follow what seems common sense to your spirit.
Step 3 – Become Your Model
There are aspects you can admire in all people. You alone, though, will express a unique blend of admirable qualities through your life’s work, your circles, and family.
When stepping up to your new A-game, you might need an extra nudge.
Consider 3-5 people you consider leaders, mentors, or those you can model an aspect of their lifestyle or character.
Take on their qualities – model them as you perceive it works. This can be just your transformation agent.
Sure, it’ll feel awkward at first. But after two weeks of behaving like this, you’ll start to feel what’s true about it in your own potential vs. what is not.
This isn’t to say you should keep pretending you’re the person you’re modeling forever and ever, amen.
You use their mastery of qualities within you to become the model person you want to be.
A New Beginning
These 3 steps help prepare you for a new beginning represented by the Scorpio New Moon.
This new moon is a fertile, dark place, best described as a womb.
Over the next year, you’ll have Jupiter (benefactor of gifts and making things bigger) on your side to make what’s good, even better.
By making a clean home for the brilliant life you want to create from within you, you have a clearer palate of resources to give birth to a healthy idea, lifestyle, or realized potential of who you really are.
Use this New Moon on Saturday, November 18th, early morning, to set intentions that represent who you want to become.
Give some time to settle into the energy and let it gestate inside you. Let it gestate in the spirit of whatever it is.
These intentions as sacred – respect them as so. Visit them every month for 10 months and witness who you become in the process of making a new, more energetic, reality. <3

Astrological Day Guides: November 14 – 20, 2017 + SCORPIO NEW MOON
Read these guides as a whole to get a feel for the week’s tone. There’s always some overlap of themes. Then read them as you need them, day-by-day.
Tuesday – Dial into the urges of who you want to become. Be nice about it, but adjust your relationships to people – how you work together, what do you together, how you communicate about it. Time to wrap up the old you and prepare for the New Moon. There are new seeds to germinate, you may just have to move on.
(Venus-Jupiter Conjunction in Scorpio with Libra Balsamic Moon Phase, conjoining Mars and sextiling Mercury today.).
Wednesday – Use the casual mood to tie loose ends and close doors with a friendly goodbye. Time to start something new.
(Libra Balsamic Moon Phase, opposes Uranus and sextiles Saturn.).
Thursday – Have a vision, but don’t know how it’s going to manifest? Astrological influences help you determine milestones of what would get you there. Make definable behaviors or actions to demonstrate it, and plan when to start living it. You have to feel the importance of it like a pain in your heart. You heal by putting all your strengths and weaknesses into whole person energized by this vision. Use today’s insights to feed into your New Moon intentions.
(Scorpio Moon conjoin Jupiter and trine Neptune. Venus and Neptune perfect their trine.).
Friday – Research activities and strategic communications favored today and tomorrow. Fill in the gaps of knowledge by learning who can help you achieve your milestones from yesterday. In general, channel your efforts into buckets that you can focus on, get deeper and deeper. Fears, uncertainty, and ugly feeling can surface. Deal with them after the Scorpio Moon as much as possible. Intensity builds throughout next couple days up to New Moon Saturday.
(Scorpio Moon, in her “fall” conjoins Venus, then sextiles Pluto. Venus and Mars sextile).
Saturday – Enter the womb of the darkness of the night. Scorpio New Moon gives you the mother within yourself to be germinated, to grow into becoming someone new by holding the energy of something new. Gather your goods to feed into the symbolic rebirth of yourself. Use the milestone developed on Thursday, the co-creators determined from yesterday… any of it. This is where it starts; the metaphorical zygote multiplies. Jupiter makes it bigger all year long. Energy is held for you to make your intentions until 1:59pm EST, when the previously void moon goes into Sagittarius.
(Scorpio New Moon at 6:42am EST at 26Sco19’).
Sunday – Tensions from the past few days can clash in the first half of the day. Let games and outdoor activities be a catharsis. Also, establish what the best outcome of the conflict is before getting into button pushing and averting co-responsibility. You can see eye-to-eye by sleeptime, so be a positive force to handle the emotional purge in the daytime.
(Sagittarius Moon squares Neptune. Mars and Pluto clash with a closing square. Moon with sextiles Mars in early morning 1:58am EST Monday).
Monday – Bold thinking, creative systems, and reaching for common ground are all favored for today’s energy. Put on one of those hats and be more of who you already are. Rest up in the evening, the long void moon 7:26pm Monday – 2:14am Tuesday EST prepares you for a “go-getter” energy tomorrow.
(Sagittarius Moon conjoins Mercury, trines Uranus, and conjoins Saturn.).
